An article found on BBC News online reports that physically "acting
out" dreams when asleep could be an early warning sign of dementia or
Parkinson's disease. People with certain sleep disorders lash out, or cry
out during REM (rapid eye movement) sleep when normally our muscles are relaxed.
This is known symptom of some kinds of brain disease, including Parkinson's
disease, and a rare form of dementia called Lewy body dementia.

The Times of London Online reports on a wife's caregiving experiences with her
husband who had young-onset dementia. Helen Beaumont has written a book
about her experiences, Losing Clive to Younger Onset Dementia. She has
also started a public charity in the UK called
The Clive
Project which is a local organization that cares for and supports younger
people with dementia and their families and friends.

UCF students use Wii and yoga to help Alzheimer's patients. Brain Fitness,
a program at the University of Central Florida to help people in the early
stages of Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, uses contemporary and
every-day activities to help participants keep their cognitive skills sharp.
