Summer Camp for Teens of Young-Onset Dementia families

Camp Building Bridges

The mission of Camp Building Bridges is to provide a respite camp for young teens away from home to receive educational support in regards to Alzheimer's disease or any neurological disorders that are related to dementia. This camp will also empower them to connect with their peers to form their own support network to allow them to be successful individuals in dealing with these diseases. The camp program was created through the inspiration of our now 14 year old son Austin, whom we have seen struggle with the emotions and pain that this disease inflicts upon its youth that have loved ones suffering with dementia.  No child should have to suffer through this kind of pain alone.

Camp Building Bridges served as a "Pilot" Program for 2008 and with GREAT success of the program it has now been adopted by the Oklahoma/Arkansas Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association
